General Timeline

From start to finish, the tenure review process can take more than one calendar year.  During this time, the dossier is being assembled, external review letters are solicited, and internal review committees are convened.  All tenure cases go to the Board of Trustees for final approval.  If you have questions about this timeline or the status of your dossier, please contact your dean's office.

The Office of Faculty Advancement offers many resources and workshops to help faculty familiarize themselves with Duke University's APT process.

The Duke Ombuds Office serves as a resource to listen, discuss concerns, and help Duke community members navigate options for resolution of issues related to their work or education. These services are available at no cost.
